Application Process & Interviews at Manila Electric Company (Meralco)

Good.

Interview was conducted on time and asked appropriate questions. Interviewers felt warm and kind. Assessments were also easily accessible.

I would really like to commend the HR at MERALCO because they are very responsive when it comes to our concerns during the hiring process for the internship. They are also consistent when it comes to updates.

The talent resourcing team is the warmest and friendliest human resources team I have ever encountered. They are hands-on with the interns and provide quick responses to any questions. During the storm, they consistently advised working from home and communicated this directly to the supervisors.

The recruitment process was properly executed and very accommodating.

The first stage of the internship application process was where you chose which department you are applying for (you have the option of choosing 2) and sending your resume. Afterward, you will receive an email containing a short and easy to answer assessment. After the assessment, you will receive an email after a few days on whether you will be qualified to move on to the next stage of the process. This is also when your application will be endorsed to the departments you applied for. Lastly, once you get short-listed, you will be invited for an online interview by the hiring organizations.

In the interview and assessment process they were nice and its like having a little talk with them about yourself.

The process of recruiting interns at Meralco surpassed my initial expectations. Hailing from a typical state university rather than one of the esteemed institutions in the country, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm reception I received. Meralco's open-armed welcome made my transition into the company incredibly smooth and enjoyable right from the outset.

The interview process and assessments were good. During these phases, I was really assessed if I was compatible and would do good in the job.

It was good. They just ask me a few questions about my background and about what I know about the company.

Introduced myself where we need to prove why we are karapatdapat sa position na yon, why meralco, how we can contribute to the company, what is our skills, achievement, what are weaknesses and how we can cope up with this weaknesses. what do we expect to the company.

What are my strengths? What are my weaknesses? If I am asked to climb in a high place, would I? Additional to the questions, they also make me show sample powerpoint presentations that I made in the past as I mentioned that I mostly do the powerpoint presentation when there is groupings.

From what I remember, they asked what my edge is from other applicants, what I can contribute to the company, etc.

I was asked about my prior experiences in L&D. Apart from that, questions mainly revolved around assessing if I would fit into the company's culture and values.

I was firstly asked to introduce myself. Next, I was asked why I wanted to apply to the department, and if I had any relevant experience with the field. I was also asked if I knew about what they did in Learning and Development, and what my understanding of technical training was.

Why do choose that company for my internship and what are my expectations when it comes to the work that I will have.

I was asked questions about what are the operations in the company, and to "market" myself in providing what I can provide to the company.

Just be the best version of yourself.

Update your resume, make a good impression, and be well-prepared. Answer questions with concise yet detailed responses that make a strong impact on the interviewer. And finally, be yourself.

Be honest, and do your best when given a chance don't waste it

I think research about the company and the department you are applying to because that's where your whole work will revolve and I think you will not enjoy it if you don't appreciate what you are doing. With regards with the interview, just be yourself and know yourself like what are your strengths and weaknesses and what can you offer to the company.

I think the best tip I can give is to understand the role. Researching the company and preparing for technical questions is the bare minimum, but understanding the role must go beyond. We can be skilled enough but cannot integrate it into what we will do at the company, so it is better to know and comprehend the role we are applying to.

I would say that they should at least know what are their goals and understand their strengths so that they can use them during the interview. And of course, be true to yourself and to what you are saying.

Just bring your skills and personality into the table. Research about what the company and how its values may or may not align from yours.

Read on the vission, mission, and values of the company. It would also be beneficial if you prepare answers to some common HR questions.

Recall technical experiences and projects.

I would recommend they ready themselves with the job description and what interest them to the company.

My tips would be to fix your resume to make it more appealing to your employers. Searching online for a Harvard style template and copying it was greatly helpful whenever I apply. Preparing beforehand for an interview by practicing with your friends, searching online for potential questions, and studying more about the company in general helps in creating the image that you are a well-prepared and enthusiastic applicant. Lastly, it is only important to stay calm and be yourself because the best thing you can always offer is your sincere self.

Wear proper attire and speak clearly. Be confident and respond to their nicely.

Make sure that you understand and analyze the work. Anything else like working environment is great. You have to focus on learning and developing skills in order to cope with the work given to you.

The questions are not fixed, but the answers are good if you believe in it. They just have to calm down and give their most honest answers.

Just be true to themselves and everything will be aligned to their purpose.
