In my role as an intern at Meralco, my primary responsibilities include compiling and updating data related to various equipment used within the company. This involves converting databases into KML files for use in Google Earth, which helps in visualizing and managing our equipment locations. On a day-to-day basis, I work on tasks such as creating heatmaps for access point design, updating and managing databases of different equipment, and assisting in various administrative and technical tasks as needed. I am also involved in data analysis and visualization, which supports the team in making informed decisions. Additionally, I participate in site visits to observe how the network is distributed to homes and other infrastructure. These visits provide me with hands-on learning opportunities and a deeper understanding of how network distribution operates in real-world scenarios. My role allows me to apply my technical skills in real-world scenarios and contribute to meaningful projects that support Meralco’s operations. It also provides me with valuable experience in data management, network planning, and field observations, which enhances my professional growth and prepares me for future career opportunities.
As an intern, I was exposed to various activities.

Meralco is an electric distribution utility company in the PH, and home to a dynamic talent community who are passionate in #BuildingABrilliantFuture
The people are very welcoming and kind, but take their job seriously and remain professional.
Great mentors/supervisors and value-adding projects.
Working at Meralco gave me the opportunity to broaden my horizons...learning about topics outside my field of study.
Even if I was an intern, they definitely treat me as a colleague and guide me with my workloads.
The culture within the learning and development department is one where everyone is familiar and close to one another.
There are some days where I don't have anything to do.
As an intern, the pay was a bit low considering the commute expenses.
Some tasks at the business center can be routine or repetitive.
The worst thing working at Meralco is the location... Every day going there was a struggle because of traffic.
Lack of more regular employment opportunities.
