As a Systems Specialist, you are responsible for managing and performing administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of Systems Unit. This role involves ensuring the reliability, performance, and accurate reports, while handling user support, system updates, documentation and other administrative tasks. 

How you'll contribute

  • Monitor and oversee the generation and timely delivery of all system input and output files.
  • Implement necessary adjustments and formatting to system data files to ensure smooth processing.
  • Conduct daily system health assessments and verify operational readiness of all systems prior to production commencement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive user documentation for all systems processes, including training support, field definitions, code lists, etc., to provide clear instruction and reference materials.
  • Receive and promptly process system access requests to ensure timely access for authorized users.
  • Conduct regular reviews of system access and update or remove access as necessary to maintain security and compliance standards.
  • Communicate system issues to stakeholders, provide timely updates on resolution progress, and escalate as needed to ensure swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop and deploy backup processes to ensure continuity of operations in the event of system disruptions.
  • Coordinate with business units and ITG to perform testing and deploy fixes for system issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Track all system issues and ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is conducted by ITG or the resolving unit to identify and address underlying causes effectively.

Pros

  • The best thing is how Security Bank cares for its employees' work-life balance. They are the only local bank to offer hybrid arrangements to head office employees.

  • Unlike other banks, Security Bank really makes me feel that I matter. Here, leaders are very approachable and visible.

  • I feel very rewarded and recognized. Personally, I've already been promoted 3x.

  • My managers are great mentors. They regularly hold alignments to make sure we are on track with projects.

  • We have a lot of online and face-to-face learning opportunities not only for technical skills but also soft skills.

Cons

    • Some leaders are still too traditional.

    • The company should focus on their salary pay. For me, it's very low.

    • It's slow and really not discussed often - something to improve to keep people happy.

    • Complex processes can be simplified. Benefits can be improved.

    • There is nothing too negative! If I had to answer, it would be that SBC is only present locally.
